However, my impression is that, as much a friend to all and basically a decent human being that West seems to be, his intellectual orientation is perhaps too "ivory tower", meaning (unfortunately) too much involved with ideals to really play the dirty game of big league politics. The weakness of Dennis Kucinich's piece today is his ignoring the total and long term intention of Israel for ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians. That there are others who feel as I do that humankind is seemingly at a threshold. And who are unafraid to assert the importance of all individuals -- not just those with whom we share ideologies.

There are people who say the right things at the right times, but then lose themselves in other matters. There are those who have agendas who manipulate with words.
Then there are those who have principals and moral decency who do not waver from them in the face of circumstances.
