Is this what caused the divide with RFK Jr?

Expand full comment

Many RFK supporters backed away over his support of Israel.. And now that Israel has used Hamas as their False Flag to genocidally invade Gaza, it has become harder to support him. The only saving grace is there is no one else who has the national presence to compete against Biden and Trump. The only other alternative is to not vote which present its own contradictions.

Expand full comment

Cornel West has a national presence and a platform that is very similar to Dennis'. Let's get Dennis to support Cornel or run on the same ticket.

Expand full comment

From what I have heard (including West's interview by Jimmy Dore), it seems to me he is too rigidly focused on racial prejudice issues, which may be fine for a member of congress, but as a president, is far too limiting to be effective in the wide range of issues that a president must face. Of course, it could be argued that if even a completely crooked, pathologically lying, senile Biden can be president, perhaps even just being able to complete a sentence would be a step up...

Expand full comment

You and Jimmy are right that West focused too much on racial issues but he's shifted. Pleases read his platform and watch him put attention on the horrors of the Gaza genocide. NO other presidential candidate is telling the truth about the Gaza genocide. That alone is reason to support him but all of his positions mesh well with Dennis Kucinich and Martin Luther King. That's pretty good company to be in.

Expand full comment

Thanks for the update. I will look into this. However, my impression is that, as much a friend to all and basically a decent human being that West seems to be, his intellectual orientation is perhaps too "ivory tower", meaning (unfortunately) too much involved with ideals to really play the dirty game of big league politics. He definitely has a role in social commentary and influence. MLK did not have to serve in Congress or the White House to exert strong positive social influence that resonates long beyond his passing, and seems likely to continue far into the future.

Well said. A number of people, including me, would like to have Cornel get a new suit and trim his hair. That would make hime a stronger candidate. I'm no longer a Bernie Sanders fan but he single handedly changed support for Medicare for All from around 50% to over 70% just by talking about it. Cornel could have that impact and if he and Dennis were on the same ticket, a miracle could happen. Everything is changing every day.

I made a mistake once myself but I didn't get an mRNA shot. Brother Cornell is in total alignment with Dennis Kucinich and Martin Luther King when it comes to increasing social services and paying for it with military cuts. That is the most essential platform issue.

Yeah. Cornel gave up the race shortly after announcing his candidacy. Seems to me he was given a talking-to by the empire, as his campaign announcement video couldn't have been more different from the Dore interview. Cornel is not trying to win, he's in fact tarnishing his legacy. I didn't know him from Adam before this race. Now I think he's a Democrat.

We aren't gonna be saved with voting. It's about mass protest and reminding the government that there are more of us than them.

Expand full comment

Please read his platform and listen to his recent interviews. He's the only presidential candidate criticizing the genocide of Gaza; that's not a Democrat speaking. His basic platform is the same as Dennis and King: increase social services and pay for it with military cuts.

He should get out of the race, he's not going to win and doesn't seem to be serious about winning. I've always liked his ideas but if someone is not serious about running they owe to the public to get out and move on.

Cornell seems to have lost interest in running and he is not stupid enough to get mixed up with kennedy and his biased, one sided view on the israeli Palestinian conflict. kennedy remained silent for weeks, didn't utter a word after the hamas attack which was shocking enough. Yes, I also found it quite jarring to hear the usually completely balanced, lucid, learned, and morally compassed RFK jr spout off about the absolute good that is Israel and the absolute bad that is Israel's enemies. Of course, there is the possibility that he felt he must make such a strong statement of support for Israel due to the inordinate influence by AIPAC et al. on U.S. politics, knowing that to say anything displeasing to the influential and moneyed Zionist/Israel lobby is political suicide. Bobby has said many times that he is always willing to listen to alternate views, give them due consideration, and change his mind if he finds merit in the argument. Once elected, someone could educate him in this area, and perhaps change his mind (although that would be risky even after elected...).

You are the apartheid-loving Nazi who falls for propaganda and regurgitates it without presenting evidence or any links to these videos that apparently exist. Nazis require power to commit their crimes, the Zionists have power and the Palestinians do not.

If you were around in the time of WWII, you would be calling the Jews in Dachau and Auschwitz the authoritarians who invite their own destruction, the international Jews who are rightly being exterminated. And you would just be parroting the most vile things you have heard the Jews as having done like you are now with the Palestinians, trying to rely on people's emotions and shock to blind them into supporting genocide.

How easily you are manipulated, unlike the Jews who fought back against their Nazi oppressors such as Marek Edelman, who rightly condemned Zionism as a racist ideology used to justify the theft of Palestinian land, and whose memorial in Poland was visited for the longest time by Palestinians—because they are in the same position as the Jews were in WWII—but all you see is their race and their propaganda.

You should change your Substack publication's title to "Genocide Loving TERF." You are inverting reality. You are the kind of person who reads the Protocols of the Elders of Zion to justify the Holocaust, not the kind of person who opposes it, as anyone who has paid attention to real Holocaust survivors or read anything written by Jews in WWII can easily understand.

Bobby is so articulate, even eloquent in countless statements, I think he could have said more that wouldn't have been damaging. This applies even more to the humanitarian crisis ongoing in Israel-Palestine. Where is his leadership toward peace? This is really his last chance to bring back supporters and votes that he urgently needs.

His position on the war in Israel is also very hypocritical. Russia had legitimate gripes with the west. Nothing that justified the slaughter in Ukraine, but RFK was clear about the instigation. Hard to believe he can be so blind that the situation in Gaza is analogous. The actions of Hamas were barbaric and unjustified but definitely instigated by the policies of Israel and the US for decades. RFK has often said that his uncle and his father taught him two important things about foreign policy. That a president's first job was to keep Americans safe from war. And that one of the best ways to do this was to put yourself in your enemy's shoes.

Dennis had nice words to say about the team. I have to say I find this post from Kucinich very bland. Anyone branding themselves as peace activists need to propose a practical way of getting there. Just saying stop fighting after one side invaded homes, raped women and beheaded babies is essentially condoning terrorism. You also can't fix 60 years of disastrous foreign policy overnight.

Israel's decades-long history of false flags:

Ari Ben-Menashe on Israeli Black Operations

https://swprs.org/ari-ben-menashe-on-israeli-black-operations/

Ari Ben-Menashe, a former Israeli military intelligence operative, revealed how Israel used proceeds from secret arms sales to Iran to finance black operations and false flag terrorism.

Book: Profits of War: Inside the Secret U.S.-Israeli Arms Network (Ari Ben-Menashe, 1992)

Quote: “The slush fund helped finance the intelligence community’s “black” operations around the world. These included funding Israeli-controlled “Palestinian terrorists” who would commit crimes in the name of the Palestinian revolution, but were actually pulling them off, usually unwittingly, as part of the Israeli propaganda machine.” (Ari Ben-Menashe, Profits of War, 1992, chapter 8)

the Achille Lauro affair. Ari Ben-Menashe, Profits of War, p. 122:

An example is the case of the “Palestinian” attack on the cruise ship Achille Lauro in 1985. That was, in fact, an Israeli “black” propaganda operation to show what a deadly, cutthroat bunch the Palestinians were.

Israel's Sacred Terrorism: A Study Based on Moshe Sharett's Personal Diary and Other Documents

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/164961.Israel_s_Sacred_Terrorism

Moshe Sharett, one of Zionism's chief diplomats before 1948 and Israel's first foreign minister and prime minister from 1953 to 1955, kept a personal diary in which he candidly recorded how key Israeli policy decisions were made, including his own doubts and opposition to the strategies pursued by Israel's "security establishment," men like David Ben Gurion, Moshe Dayan and Arik Sharon. The diary reveals how in the early 1950's Israeli leaders deliberately provoked Arab states by military operations and covert terrorist actions, stirred up mass hysteria in Israel, and began plotting the takeover of southern Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank. Rokach has selected from the diaries and other documents, and provided a fascinating commentary and analysis.

Shamir and his faction certainly continued this sort of behavior into the 1940s, successfully assassinating Lord Moyne, the British Minister for the Middle East, and Count Folke Bernadotte, the UN Peace Negotiator, though they failed in their other attempts to kill American President Harry Truman and British Foreign Minister Ernest Bevin, and their plans to assassinate Winston Churchill apparently never moved past the discussion stage. His group also pioneered the use of terrorist car-bombs and other explosive attacks against innocent civilian targets, all long before any Arabs or Muslims had ever thought of using similar tactics; and Begin’s larger and more “moderate” Zionist faction did much the same.

As far as I know, the early Zionists had a record of political terrorism almost unmatched in world history, and in 1974 Prime Minister Menachem Begin once even boasted to a television interviewer of having been the founding father of terrorism across the world.

You wrote: "Hamas’ charter calls for the destruction of Israel through Jihad" - this is in fact based on a challenge to the legitimacy of Israel politically as a state and a demand that it no longer exist based on its exclusion of Palestinian rights. It isn't a call for killing Jews. The two are distinct and unfortunately you are doing the work of warmongers by implying they are the same. Hamas certainly has many who hate Jews but also many who don't: the program of Hamas is not genocide. Calling for an end to the apartheid state of Israel is like calling for an end to the apartheid state of South Africa.

I disagree with your statement that Hamas sees destruction of Israel as separate from pure killing of Jews. From their own charter, Article 7:

Even though the Islamic Resistance Movement looks forward to fulfill the promise of Allah no matter how long it takes because the Prophet of Allah (saas) says: “The Last Hour would not come until the Muslims fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them, and the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim or Servant of Allah there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree of Gharqad would not say it for it is the tree of the Jews.”

Article 8: motto of Hamas

Jihad is its methodology, and

Death for the sake of Allah is its most coveted desire.

Article 13: Initiatives, Peace Solutions and International Conferences

There is no solution to the Palestinian Problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, options, and international conferences are a waste of time and a kind of child’s play.

Article 36: Islamic Resistance Movement are Soldiers

The Islamic Resistance Movement is nothing but its soldiers. Nothing but.

......

There are other references...but the only acceptable solution to Hamas (written in their charter) is one in which the state of Israel does not exist and the Jew, Christian, other religions live subservient to Shariah law. Go back to that first section cited above...killing the Jew is central to Islamic belief in end times.

Who Is Hamas?

Indeed, on its own soil, Israel has long been documented as creating “fake” al-Qaeda groups to justify its treatment of the Palestinian people.

With that in mind, it is important to note that Israel’s arch nemesis, Hamas, was created by Israel itself for the purpose of splitting the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) and Fatah, the leading outfit for the Palestinian freedom and resistance movement.

As Justin Raimondo of AntiWar.com wrote in his 2006 article “Hamas, Son of Israel,”

Amid all the howls of pain and gnashing of teeth over the triumph of Hamas in the Palestinian elections, one fact remains relatively obscure, albeit highly relevant: Israel did much to launch Hamas as an effective force in the occupied territories. If ever there was a clear case of “blowback,” then this is it. As Richard Sale pointed out in a piece for UPI:

Israel and Hamas may currently be locked in deadly combat, but, according to several current and former U.S. intelligence officials, beginning in the late 1970s, Tel Aviv gave direct and indirect financial aid to Hamas over a period of years. Israel ‘aided Hamas directly – the Israelis wanted to use it as a counterbalance to the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization),’ said Tony Cordesman, Middle East analyst for the Center for Strategic [and International] Studies.Israel’s support for Hamas ‘was a direct attempt to divide and dilute support for a strong, secular PLO by using a competing religious alternative,’ said a former senior CIA official.

https://henrymakow.com/israelcreatedhamastoavoid.html

According to Charles Freeman, former US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, "Israel started Hamas. It was a project of Shin Bet [Isreali domestic intelligence agency], which had a feeling that they could use it to hem in the PLO."

Essentially, as analyst Ray Hannania pointed out, in "Sharon's Terror Child", published in Counterpunch, "undermining the peace process has always been the real target of Hamas and has played into the political ambitions of Likud. Every time Israeli and Palestinian negotiators appeared ready to take a major step forward achieving peace, an act of Hamas terrorism has scuttled the peace process and pushed the two sides apart."

Something is VERY WRONG HERE, something is very strange, this chain of events is very unusual and not typical for the Israeli defense system.

"To me this suprise attack seems like a planned operation. On all fronts. This is a failure to protect the people of Israel, for sure, perhaps the biggest failure since the Yom Kippur war exactly 50 years ago, if not bigger. – by the way – is it a coincidence it’s exactly 50 years ago, almost on the day? I did a service with IDF and have been to most bases in the south, and the ones close to the borders are always on highest level security alert: armed guards on towers 24/7 and all personnel are required to carry their personal weapons at all times… including sleeping with it literally under your mattress exactly for such situations! So how the hell could a group of Palestinians break into a base and make it all the way to the barracks unnoticed and unheard? I saw the media trying to sell a story that Iranians provided some equipment that jammed the electronically monitored fence, but any disturbance immediately notifies command and control center in Israel’s equivalent of the pentagon and someone would be immediately in touch with the bases’ commanders especially in the middle of the night. But even if that story is true, where were the night guards not to see the combatants approaching and alert everyone? With bases neutralized, there were no one to come to help the civilians in the area… how convenient.

The weakness of Dennis Kucinich's piece today is his ignoring the total and long term intention of Israel for ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians. They wrote about this beginning with the early Zionist documents. Israel has weaponized the holocaust and used the imposed guilt to cover their slow genocide that has been ongoing for 75 yrs since that State's inception.

Even more horrifying is the revelation that Global Research wrote about today are documents along with all the fascist calls for genocide that detailed this effort going back a number of years and publicly repeated continually. Max Blumenthal's show today has been too hard to listen to all at once. One of the horrors he details is the targeted assassinations of journalist, doctors and their families for continuing to report news and treat people. A major Al Jazeera reported was told/ordered to stop reporting. To make the point Israel bombed his home killing his family including at least 3 very young children. This has been ongoing with increasing severity.

Kucinich talks/calls for peace but he ignores the total depravity of Israel and the US with their fascist racist and totally corporatist interests. There can never be peace as long as the fascist, corporatist power relationship between government and oligarchy continues to rule. Not calling it out and education people on it ensures that peace will never be on the agenda as the ruling elite are commtted to war and its profits. Add to this, most importantly, is the WEF Great Reset which promotes a corporate controlled One World Order and is using fear of the invisible, germs, via the WHO treaty to promote this agenda which demands major population reduction. These covid drugs are proving to be a useful tool to do this coupled with war.
